Compared to a leftist turn to the Democratic Party after 1935, it seemed rightist comparatively. Did the party of Lincoln just morph into the Democratic Party?
The Democratic Party of today is nothing like what my 3rd great uncle started.
It's been a long time since HS & Undergrad. 19th Century political/wartime history has become a faded memory. I don't earn my living by delving into History like that Miss Cox. I quit fighting the Civil War long before she started on it. I left that up to my ancestors to deal with. I am much more into music, art, technology, architecture, agriculture, numismatics, geography and current affairs.
