Then electricity from the grid can be used at night. The details may differ depending on the local power company. Google says: Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) are certificates earned for every 1,000-kilowatt hours (kWh) of solar energy a system generates, representing the environmental benefits of that solar power. These credits can be sold, creating a financial incentive for homeowners and businesses to install solar panels
