Sometimes there are no good choices, and voters can only choose between the lesser of two evils. That's still better than having no choice.

In Texas the Republicans decided to Gerrymander themselves an advantage. The decision was made by politicians. Here in California we have democracy, so the citizens are voting on whether we should lower ourselves to that level and have our own Gerrymandering.

In NY they are voting for an alleged socialist Mayor. I'm opposed to socialism, but I support democracy. If that's what the majority wants, that's what they should get.

I want us to do more to help the poor, but socialism is not the best way to do it. Wealth Inequality is increasing in USA. Maybe we reached the point where people are willing to try crazy experiments to prevent more wealth inequality. It will be interesting to see if that plan works for them.
