Didn't say Trump was the trafficker himself, did I? My point is he's hip-deep in the Epstein affair from a "what's being talked about" standpoint, and that's what matters. The details might come out in time (I actually rather doubt that), but there's a widespread public impression on the part of (former) supporters and detractors alike that there's some sort of involvement in activity any decent person views as disgusting. Trump viciously attacking several Republicans who have opposed him on this (with those cringy social media diatribes) hasn't helped.

I don't think the general public is ever going to know exactly what went on and which whom on Epstein's island. At this point, there's already so much speculation that the files have been thoroughly "scrubbed" that confidence in their content if/when released is never going to be high. No one's going to get convicted (or even indicted) over these files at this point. Of course, this also means that no one implicated so far will ever be able to completely clear their name in the court of public opinion.
