2) No one pays $1000 for a $1000 cell phone. I have a contract with a service provider and they have discounts anytime a new phone comes out. Right now I have an iPhone 15. I paid $10 per month for that phone for 36 months (that is $360 in case math is not your thing). I can now trade that phone in and pay about $8 per month for 36 months for the latest $1200 17 pro model. There is no interest on that payment. It is just included in my monthly bill.
I would prefer to pay it all at once, but you only get the discount if you include it in the payment. That is how the provider keeps you as a customer. I don't really care because AT&T has the best service in my area so I have no desire to switch.
I am not sure where you came up with the weird idea that the blurred areas on a phone video have anything to do with the phone. That is something that the news does to fill in when a phone video is filmed in portrait mode (holding the phone vertically) vs landscape. It has NOTHING to do with the phone manufacturer.
Samsung phones are great. They are just as expensive as iPhones if you want the best technology. CNET ranked the Galaxy S25 as the best smart phone camera, but that phone is $1000 just like an iPhone. I just prefer the Apple devices because we use Apple for everything else at home.
