I'd certainly prefer greater efficiency...as I would all across the budget of federal, state, and local governments. But I don't begrudge these aid programs. I prefer prioritizing domestic need, but I think there's enough to lend a hand overseas, too.

I do what I can (or at least am willing to budget) privately, too...but I actually have less trust in most private charities than I do in federal government aid programs.
