No, I don't mean the little pocketknife she had stashed in her daypack. I mean that by crossing through the broken window into that space, she was poised to unlock the door and admit a mob. The mob was, potentially, her "weapon." Lt. Byrd had no choice but to stop her, and in my view the only question is whether or not he could have done so, without taking undue chances with the lives of people he was tasked to protect, without using lethal force. I would also assert that that question is a hell of a lot harder to answer that it was for Ross, who was in very little (if any) legitimate danger indeed.
