Three friends were driving home after a Sunday service when a sudden accident sent them on an unexpected journey… straight to the gates of heaven. ☁️
As they arrived, they were greeted by St. Peter, who smiled warmly and said, “Welcome, ladies. Heaven is a wonderful place, but there’s just one simple rule you need to remember.”
They all listened carefully.
“Whatever you do,” he said, pointing down the path, “please try not to step on the Lord’s ducks.” 🦆
The gates opened, and the three friends walked in.
Almost immediately they noticed something unusual — ducks were everywhere. Not just a few… but hundreds of them! They waddled across the paths, sat near the gardens, and even rested by the clouds. The place was peaceful, but it was almost impossible to walk without bumping into one.
The first woman tried her best to step carefully, but within minutes she accidentally stepped on a duck.
Quack!
Instantly, St. Peter appeared beside her with a man who was… well… not exactly easy on the eyes.
St. Peter calmly placed a chain connecting the two of them and said,
“As a reminder to watch your step, you’ll be spending your time together from now on.”
The poor woman sighed as they walked away together.
The second friend watched this happen and thought, I have to be extra careful.
She tiptoed everywhere she went for the rest of the day. But eventually, while turning around quickly to avoid one duck, she stepped on another.
Quack!
Once again, St. Peter appeared with another very unfortunate-looking fellow. He chained them together and gave the same explanation.
Now the third friend had seen enough.
“I am not stepping on any ducks,” she told herself.
For months she walked slowly and carefully, watching every step. She avoided crowds of ducks, chose wide paths, and stayed alert at all times.
A full year passed without a single mistake.
Then one day, St. Peter approached her again.
This time, however, he was standing beside an incredibly handsome man — tall, charming, and looking like he stepped straight out of a movie. 😄
Without saying a word, St. Peter chained them together and quietly walked away.
The woman was stunned but thrilled.
Smiling, she turned to the handsome man and said,
“I have no idea what I did to deserve this wonderful reward!”
The man looked at the chain, then back at her, and shrugged.
“Well,” he said, “I’m not sure about you… but I definitely just stepped on one of those ducks.” 🦆😅
