It slowly promotes the growth of resentment and hostility. Pretty soon, the study object is lashing out at others that they do not and never will know, which really frustrates them into further psychological decline. They then spend their lives cowering behind an artificial electronic barrier which enables them to attack and ridicule others that they likewise do not and never will know. A sad, unproductive, lonely, unfulfilled life ... wasted.
