I would be proud too, if I had an ancestor that founded a well known town....as my lineage of both sides of my family came to America in 1620... My husbands lineage in the US starts in the 1700's....

One set of great great grandparents left Iowa in 1850 in a covered wagon with children, but losing the baby along the way to Salt Lake City with Brigham Young's brother and buring it in a silverware chest in Nebaska...they were Mormon's, but went on to Sacramento, California in 1851...and then bought a farm in Petaluma, CA....
