They weren’t that different from the Europeans or other civilizations.

They traded. They embraced capitalism.
They also enslaved other tribes. They stole horses.
They were human beings with the good and bad characteristics of all human beings.
I have ancestors on the early ships of colonists and ancestors here to greet them.
