Trust is perhaps the most important aspect of any relationship. It certainly should be the foundation for our relationship with our government. Dr. Fauci, driven by ego and self interests lied to the American public. A generation of our youth will suffer by the closure of public schools. Small businesses were destroyed by the government’s choice to deem them “non-vital” to our free economy. Our freedom to worship was ignored when it was deemed illegal to gather and pray. Many loved ones died in hospitals unable to say goodbye to family members.

As Senator Paul so eloquently stated:

“It is secrecy that destroys trust. It is arrogance that destroys trust. It is censorship that destroys trust. It is refusal to admit error that destroys trust. …. Trust can’t be ordered. It must be earned.”

Someday there will be another pandemic. The hearing today (although Fauci has predictably refused to answer any questions) is important so that we start rebuilding trust between the American people and the often arrogant bureaucrats who put their own egos and bank accounts above the best interests of the rest of us.
