There is no means testing (like there is for food stamps), so the government-mandated pricing will result in increased demand and subsequent short supplies, and long lines. Secondary markets will develop based on forced pricing and mandated discounts further eroding supply. Since the government dictates the price, there are no valuable market signals sent and therefore no way of avoiding shortages. Food and other products aren’t produced by grocery stores. Most are produced by farmers who need market signals to guide their decision making.
Democrats are going off the deep end by embracing socialism. We don’t have to guess. Just look at history. How many Americans are risking their lives on flimsy rafts to escape to Cuba?
