After 1,660 days in Russian captivity for allegedly kicking a Russian police officer on a train, he is coming home. He is in very poor physical and mental health after years of torture and abuse at the hands of the Russian government.

It should be a stark reminder of the importance of due process that we have as Americans as expressed in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.

Gilman’s “crimes” were being an American and a marine. It was clearly a politically-motivated prosecution.
