“We” thought it was a good idea to lend students thousands of taxpayer dollars to get degrees in gender studies and other low demand areas of education. Then “we” double down on the insanity by forgiving the loans sticking taxpayers with the bill and sucking valuable capital out of the economy.

“We” create the Department of Education at the federal level far from where it is needed and far from any accountability at the local level. The federal government is spending thousands of taxpayer dollars and student achievement is lower than when the Department of Education was started.

“We” would be better served by keeping the federal government out of education and letting the free market determine the types of jobs needed to create value and economic growth.

Our education system is a mess because “we” let it become a mess by letting teachers unions co-opt the system and we still pump billions of taxpayer dollars into useless degrees that have no value to society all in the name of “we” should do something.

The problem is not that the poor are underpaid for what they do. The problem is that they are under-skilled. Those skills should be developed with training and experience by businesses who need them in order to create value for their customers, not by government funding of useless occupations that have no demand.
