But at least if they elect not to rebuild the demolished East Wing and just plant a garden, I know where they can get plenty of fertilizer.

High points, though, were the Medal of Honor awards. Now that was something to feel good about.

Doesn't this kind'a refute your theory that he is suffering mental decline.

He spoke flawlessly for over 2 hours. Much not even scripted. The whole program was entertaining and uplifting.

He seems more alert and less senile than Biden did.

even with that he was fading in the 2nd half of the speech.

He had one of those "good days," to be sure.

Started falling off a bit as things wore on, but that's to be expected. Heck, any person pushing 80 is going to feel fatigue after talking for nearly two hours.

I suppose there was also entertainment value in that speech, too...and yes, he was pushing all the right buttons to uplift a certain segment of his audience. But I prefer such oration to be a bit more fact-filled. Lots of complete nonsense uttered...but that's what politicians do.

You grossly underestimate us octogenarians.

I am almost 83, and as energetic as a Spring Thorobred stallion training for the Preakness.

Are you still riding? Do you have a moto in Japan? Life comes at you fast. We wouldn't want that rebelesque Poppet losing any of that feisty edge.

Sure, I know more than a few who are physically capable and have quite reasonable* endurance. I also know more than a few who are virtually (or completely) chair-bound. Plenty of middle ground. My compliments to you on being in that first category!

I still ride, although not as much (and not on track any more). I still have my GT1000, kept in teh Phoenix area, and which has actually appreciated! Ducati's entire Sports Classic run has done so. The GT less than the others, but the rest of the line have really track-oriented (uncomfortable) ergonomics; the GT was the one you bought to ride, not as a collector investment or art object. I don't5 have a moto in either Tokyo of Sapporo. I should fic that this Spring, although I have to double-check if my MC endorsement carried over to my Japanese license process when I got the latter (some states, including Oregon, have a reciprocity agreement that makes the transfer a no-testing exercise in paperwork completion instead of the expensive, time consuming mess that it is of other gaijin.

I have bicycles in multiple locations, though. Easier to deal with, as I can just carry 'em inside when I know I'm not going to be to that place for a while!

* I have, perhaps, somewhat unreasonable standards for endurance. As you may recall, I used to be a pretty serious bike racer and still put in a lot of mileage every week. My plan to get back into competition (in one of the "old ladies" categories) got torpedoed first by COVID, then by my unpredictable trans-Pacific lifestyle.

I'm still agile enough to ride this 750 pound rip-roaring speed demon.

I was a JRHI/HS/College Jock: football, track (10.6 100yd best), Mid-South wrestling champion. A lot of what I built physically early in life has stayed with me throughout life. I can still run extremely fast for my age, do 300# leg presses, high overall endurance, undefeatable mental attitude and toughness. I keep up with over 1,000,000 lines of complex code while keeping my Fortune 500/1000 clients happy. I continue to supplement my superior education.

I don't eat junk food. I don't do drugs ... never have. And I vacation frequently in nice spots with my rock, JuJu.

I'm glad you are keeping up the physical fitness, along with that brilliant mind of yours.

...and you'd already made up your mind before the SOTU...

He has no idea how most people live

Trump knows a lot more about life at every level than you ever will.
