Is Gavin Newsom mostly dumb or is he mostly dishonest?

He could be both, but which is he more of? Is he mostly dumb?, or is he mostly dishonest?

Oil companies make about $0.20 per gallon profit from California gas.

California government gets about $0.71 per gallon profit from high gas taxes.

California's restrictive regulations also make gas even more expensive.

If Newsom was smart and honest, he could say something like "We need high gas taxes to save the environment and to fund our clean energy goals." Instead of that, he is blaming the oil companies for his bad gas policies.

I feel relatively confident that none of these problems which may have been caused by the policies US and Britain and OIL have played in Iran ever since the Shah years of the
50s have done nothing to fuel the problem or jack the cost

On the other hand, I cannot imagine Donald doing anything
which would place his family name and his personal gain in jeopardy if it meant sacrificing truth or moral values, or any important stuff, and as long as I can be distracted, I am OK

Trump was already elected, so it seems like a waste time to criticize Trump.

Instead of complaining the guy who we are stuck with for a few more years, I'd rather focus on the future and talk about our potential next presidents (like Newsome).

Trump deosn't get a free pass just because WE THE PEOPLE are looking to the future. He is culpable and should be held so.

That discussion can happen while we perhaps use him as an example of what NOT to elect in a future leader
