Supreme Court ruling and it’s impact on Minority Voting Rights

The U.S. Supreme Court’s 2026 decision in the Louisiana redistricting case — part of a broader challenge to Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act — has significantly weakened federal protections against racial gerrymandering. The ruling effectively allows states to redraw congressional maps without the same level of federal oversight, opening the door for partisan redistricting that can dilute the voting power of Black, Hispanic, and other minority communities.

The decision in Louisiana v. Callais determined racial gerrymandering is, well..racist.

Good luck with that.

But I think the USSC got this ruling right. Racial gerrymandering is clearly racist.
