The government is not forcing my retirement fund to invest in Spacex.

With all due respect, I know my retirement funds better than you do.

Are you suggesting individuals don’t have control over their retirement funds?

That is nonsense. Well, except for social security where the government takes part of your earnings, “invests” it for you, and might give some of it back to you when you reach retirement age.

The government does not force you to buy Spacex shares. You might have investments in certain index funds that include Spacex in their portfolio. People who don’t like that fund can simply buy shares in another fund. Problem solved.

This is a huge problem right now in America.

Too many people don’t take responsibility for their on well being and want to blame somebody else for their poor decisions.

At one time individuals with a 401K sat down with a financial advisor and discussed how to allocate their funds.

Today many companies went away from that practice and invest your funds at their convenience.

Pro tip: other than social security, people have control over their own money.
