Oil goes up again today . Just how much profit does the oil companies wanting.

Posted by Lucky on September 1, 2026, 6:30 am

Some of you think oil prices are a small price to pay but high oil prices affect most everything . How much was your grocery bill last week ?

You should consult a psychiatrist for your abnormal worry about gas prices.

Oil industry profits typically account for 2-7% of the price of gasoline.

Taxes typically account for between 12 and 18% of the price (much higher in places like California).

This, according to the US Energy Information Administration.

If you are paying $5.00 per gallon, oil industry profits are about 25 cents per gallon. Taxes account for about 75 cents per gallon, or three times industry profits.

Much of those industry profits provide revenue for people who are on a fixed income and need funds for retirement.

False information.

You or the US Energy Information Administration is full of crap.

Typical…..another unsupported opinion by Mke Scalise.

Your lack of credibility is, once again, duly noted.

Go sell some cheap carpet.

Thanks Arwen!!!

For explaining the profits to the uneducated...that sit around being jealous of others...for nothing....sadly!!

To you and Arwen, ignorance is a virtue.

Stop attempting to bully women, Scalise.

This was a good, productive thread before you butted in with your usual verbal abuse.

Go sell some cheap carpet.

You are nothing more than a troublemaker

Lucky is a gentleman who i have never seen badmouth another poster.

Why do you instigate issues with him? Lucky’s is entitled to post his opinions without your nasty attitude towards his posts.

All you do is post your opinions as fact.

LOLOLOL You and Lucky Are NO Gentlemen AT ALL....

Posted by Deanna on September 2, 2026, 9:41 am, in reply to "You are nothing more than a troublemaker"

There are droves of men just like you both....that have the belief they are smarter and better looking than other men....and truly you all are zeroes to the majority of women! SAD!

Listen, Scalise.

Posted by Arwen on September 1, 2026, 2:01 pm, in reply to "You are nothing more than a troublemaker"

Posting facts is not instigating issues. The facts were offered to help Lucky understand how much profit goes to the oil industry….a question he asked in his original post. This is the essence of civil discourse. There is nothing “nasty” about supporting opinions with facts or posting facts in response to a legitimate inquiry stated in a post.

You are the nastiest, most vulgar misogynist on this board. You attack me, Deanna, and other women on this board on a regular basis. So spare me or anyone else here your hypocritical lectures on nastiness.

You had a carpet company. Good for you. You think that is “success” in life and that is great. It doesn’t give you the right to succumb to your insecurities and lash out at women whose success in life makes your little carpet business look like a….well, a little carpet business.

Abusiveness is not cool. Stop it.

Stop being a troublemaker

Posted by Gustavo on September 1, 2026, 4:33 pm, in reply to "Listen, Scalise."

No one wants to read your opinions posted as fact. Then when you are called on it the nasty shows up.

If you cannot be civil get off this board.

Are you threatening me, Scalise?

Posted by Arwen on September 1, 2026, 7:45 pm, in reply to "Stop being a troublemaker"

You gonna beat me up, Internet Tough Guy?

I will post opinions. I will post facts in support of those opinions.

If you are so threatened by successful women that you must conflate logic, reason, and civility with “ trouble making,” put on your big boy panties and get over it, because I don’t back down to bullies.

TIA

You Said It Well !!!
