Gosh but these built in spell checkers really piss me off. I do know how to spell okay? Draft in English refers to being signed up for military service NOT the same as DRAUGHT for unwelcome air intrusion!
Okay I can agree that my habit of ignoring apostrophes for shortened words such as dont for do not but I think anyone can recognize its still understandable in context but admittedly its the omission of a lazy writer. Didnt pick up on the its though...
Well I just awoke to make my first cuppa and turn the heater on, gosh but I woke up a lot last night because of the chill making the need to pee unavoidable even though in fact it was but a few drops each time. Cannot afford to ignore these little bodily urges anyway as doing so might prove disastrous. Theres no longer a working faucet in my plumbing, it seems to just fall out without any prompting necessary.
Also my skeletal disintegration continues having now affected shoulder joints and elbows, you can hear me crunching at every movement although so far the pain is not intrusive and I'm exercising self control over the use of analgesics. Not much point in worrying about the long term side effects, if they don't get me, something else will.
The last two or three days have been pleasant ever since I managed to get Daniels imbibing under control by the simple expedient of keeping him involved with discussions about every subject dear to our hearts, mostly electro-mechanical and vehicular issues.
Persuading him its best not to respond to Maria's goading and to use my little man cave as his bolt hole whilst saying to her "I'm talking to Dad now"
Her behaviour is a cultural thing, West Indian women seem to treat their men like big boys who need their mum to remind them of their duties. In that respect she is a trouble maker since neither Daniel nor I like to be told what to do.
One of his Navy pals is supposed to be setting him up for a work from home job of customer service relating to debugging their software problems. It comes with a company car for when he needs to be there in person to show them where the power on switch is. Its based in Albany which is only fifteen minutes away. I do hope he gets it and doesn't blow it, they need the money and he needs the recognition of his impressive skill set.
I'm not neglecting doing my best to pacify Maria either, when the chance arises I do my Dear Abby routine and try to make the learning curve less steep for her. She's from Trinidad, she's just lost her mother, father and aunt in the previous year and is under a lot of pressure but it would help if she would just make the attempt to integrate into American culture instead of trying to behave as if she was home.
She won't learn to drive, her accent makes it difficult to decipher her speech (and I'm good at accents) but when she's excited and voluble I need to see her face to stand a chance at understanding her and last but not least she's a trouble maker who shouts a lot and blames Daniel for everything which is unfair even though he can be difficult.
Anyway my efforts at mediation do seem to be having an effect equally beneficial to both of them especially since I'm the stand in for her late father who she loved and respected even though in my book he was an abusive little sod. We had him stay with us for a week or two, long enough to get the general picture.
Well thats enough for now, hope you chaps are okay and not getting too bogged down by Life's traumas.
