As you left the UK in the 70's Mike you might not be aware of this little monster much beloved by teenagers of the time but hated so much by the authorities that they brought in the 125 cc law for learners which meant they not only were restricted size wise but the 125 cc slugs they had to ride were also power restricted too which allied to a slow power delivery meant getting out of trouble when a bit of grunt was required was out of the question.
This meant that instead of learning on a bike of reasonable weight and power before trading up to something bigger yet not too unfamiliar they now have to pass three different tests on said underpowered slug (money money money) and upon passing then proceed to buy a Japanese power hog and in the main write themselves off on the nearest by-pass unable to handle something the older 250 learners could.
I have ridden a few X7's and everything said in the review is true, they were bloody lethal and the acceleration shown in the first video is accurate believe me, and this was only a bloody 250!
