...an update from our Mike, here's who is supervising my therapy at the moment:
Meanwhile, my son has documented what happens to my chair after I go the bed of an evening. Then, and only then, Cal'y takes it over and often shares with one of the others, usually Hobbes or Grrr.
It's taken me a while to figure Caledonia out, for she is just odd. She rarely lets me touch her, never shares a lap, runs off on approach. Still she is never skittish or angry with me, always takes my chair for the night, leaves me presents of toy mice and the like.
She is treating me as any adult cat treats another when there is a hierarchy thing going. Our territories overlap, but one usually defers to the other on approach, never occupying the same place at the same time. Its a different relationship than the communal one Hobbes, Grrr, and the Swede include me in. She sees me as the pride's leader whilst the others see me as an equal; very different dynamic. Interesting, but not as much fun, though...
