Restful indeed.
I never liked watercolour when much younger as I thought it was a bit weak and insipid. I suspect that was because my only real experience of it was the out put of local amateur water colourists whose sole repertoire seemed to be a washed out rendering of some obscure hill in north Yorkshire, all blue wash and malachite green squashed together in some unholy duality.
As I grew older I came to appreciate the finer aspects of decent water colourists.
Turners, The Fighting Temeraire I find very evocative especially.
The new technology of the steam tug painted very strongly whilst the Temeraire looks almost ghostly in comparison as if to stress the passing of sail in favour of steam, the rest of the scene being somewhat impressionistic yet realistic in the same space.
Excellent video Mike.
