Not happy."
Here, there is an assumption that, once you've reached "our age", that we get up, log in to all the various health care "portals" and somehow that is "managing our healthcare", then its off to the pharmaceutical outlet (we don't seem to have a chemist's shop anymore) website to "manage" our prescriptions, then a break for lunch and maybe a quick nap before a delightful afternoon's romp through the financial advisors website to "manage" our investments that are fast evaporating followed by a supper of porridge and an evening of canasta or bridge in the cardroom of the home. The idea we might have some other activity that we prefer over daily interactions just mystifies them, and the fact that our time is not theirs on demand is a totally foreign concept. The absolutely mystified look I get when I say, "No, I'm not available. I have other plans." or after sitting in the quack's office for an hour past appointment time getting up and telling them I have shit to do and am leaving now, thanks so much, is absolutely precious. Grin!
