BE VERY CAREFUL WITH TRAMADOL!
I have been on Tramadol since the millennium started and have become quite intimate with all its machinations.
1) As an opioid it is a controlled drug in the UK and about one step down from heroin.
2) It is hellishly addictive (something I know you are familiar with) and if taken long term then suddenly stopped the withdrawal symptoms are horrendous.
3) Some practitioners prescribe paracetamol (Tylenol) alongside Tramadol as it speeds up its absorption and offers better pain relief but I personally believe it is a dangerous combination especially liver damage wise.
4) After some time the relief given can become lesser for a given dose which may lead you to compound the dose for the same previous relief.
5) If when taking it and should you decide to up your dose then the first sign that overdose levels are approaching is experiencing what I refer to as the "Tramadol headache." Should that happen please desist immediately.
6) Finally Mike please don't take Tramadol habitually or on a regular dose regime. Take it only when the pain becomes unbearable and most importantly..DO NOT TAKE WITH OTHER OPIOIDS!
All this I have learned through experience and medical advice from those practitioners whose primary concern is my continued good health and not how much they can leverage from a medical plan.
Your own doctor should have pointed all this out to you and if not shame on them and no doubt will poo poo all the above albeit due to fiscal rather than any medical concerns.
All my best wishes Mon Colonel.
