For example for the last two days I've been watching reruns or clips from that show 'The Big Bang Theory' which the two of us watched for the first 3 or 4 seasons until I couldn't afford the TV fees via Verizons 'free' offer.
I was surprised to learn it lasted 12 seasons and I'd like to catch up on the episodes we missed. Both of us could identify with the various characters and thought the writers handled the scripts and plot lines very cleverly to keep interest in new characters as well as developing the relations between the principal characters.
Well the two of us could have been seen as nerds too so its no wonder we identified with that show. When the 'Lord of the Rings' films were just being released Tammy bought all the action figures she could find of the Tolkien characters like Aragorn etc. I dunno what happened to them I think they got lost in our various moves.
I previously mentioned on Sarges post about rallying, that I was a lousy navigator?
I had to take the helm and sails of a 30ft trimaran sailing across the shipping channels of the Chesapeake Bay towards a Maryland harbour because the stern gland sprang a leak and the skipper and mate were desperately trying to fix it so handed the ship to me!
The mantra 'Red-Right-Return' had been drilled into me by the Coastguard Auxiliary and I had a chart and a compass but they were no help at all because the red light I was steering for was actually a sign inland like maybe a stuck traffic light?
Besides I was worried about getting blown onto the lee shore which was Tangier island and having to negotiate a maze of crab traps, one of which had earlier fouled the propeller and caused the stern gland leak.
It was a jolly hairy situation what with changeable winds, sails to keep in trim - no easy task even with a capstan - and I wanted to tack to get a better wind but to do so meant really being in the middle of a busy shipping lane and I really wasn't sure of my position.
Night sailing like that can be bloody terrifying.
