I know how absolutely frustrating smartphones can be. I wish they would make a tablet that took a sim-card and connected to the cell-network; it'd be the perfect replacement enhanced with texting, for a land-line's purpose.
Like you, I find the keyboards on iPhone far too small for my fingers. They try to make up for it with predictive text, which doesn't help when one uses anything above the most basic modern vocabulary.
Then they try voice dictated texting as the solution. The dam thing does not understand my voice and inflections remotely reliably to begin with.
Then there is the irony of using ones voice into a phone in order to convert to text, transmit that text, and quite possibly have that text read out by a voice synth app on the other end. Am I the only one who gets the notion that result rather meets the goal of Bell's "telephone"?
GRIN!
I'll see if I can pull the number you used and give a call later today, Mike. I am back to a flip-phone, btw.
