You raise a jolly good point though and if taken to its logical conclusion then yes, it would seem that humanity is for the chop eventually though I doubt any outside assistance will be required!
I waited for that reply in order to see whether or not to pursue that line of plot development. I'm trying to recall that moment of epiphany from the night before last because I saw the answer clear as day, why there's nothing to distinguish between conventional and quantum level physics.
They are the same thing, where the mistaken dichotomy occurs is in not understanding just how logical the connection is, its basically all about vibrations, you cannot treat atoms as little solar systems without taking into account exactly how much variation exists within our solar system.
I mean from Newton thru Einstein and Bohr is a macro to micro linear progression like steps of a pyramid, starting big but straight forward based on observation until the smaller and smaller can no longer be perceived directly but must be inferred from mathematics and thats where the problems begin.
Years ago I discovered interference pattern phenomena by accident when I was asked to develop a system to scan a 3D object into a computer such that the dimensions X,Y and Z axis were all correctly measured.
I developed a way of projecting a grid like graph paper and as I kept increasing the resolution with ever more precise grids, I discovered all sorts of irritating faults which I ascribed to the light source so I used a HeNe laser borrowed from NASA and that seemed to do the trick - for a while - until I eventually had to face that my system wasn't able to overcome its limitations no matter how precise my apparatus was.
It was a fascinating study part of my NASA internship and I did get a usable end product which my project manager thought was a brilliant solution! I didn't tell him I got the original idea from Disney's TRON, well if you can't keep up with developments in entertainment and home computing capabilities, thats your problem!
So I have a lot of legacy thought tied into the story but know that the characters are more important than the techno babble. Still I wish I could find a way to put my thinking into simple terms enjoyable to follow and non intrusive.
