Nope, I tend to avoid pain meds almost as a matter of religion, especially the high-octane stuff. About the most I get into is Tylenol (no Ibuprofen whilst on blood thinners, I'm instructed); I find that and either heat or ice keeps my back unless I do something really mischievous.

I've been sent home from hospital with the good stuff many times and never touched it. As long as I can knock the edge off, that's really all I've ever needed to do.
