If I trusted the site itself, Facebook has a group of some of the very best modellers I know and good friends. They don't feel the need for anything but modelling subjects, so prove this just isn't necessary.
I am fortunate not to have given away my privacy to FB back when all and sundry flocked to it, not realising the personal cost as Zuckerberg harvested their identities, the downside being I can't join them now.
Anyway, the reaction against the truly heavy-handed "moderation" of the one forum gave birth to a number of alternatives, each with some sort of "off topic" subforum. Though MTJ is the worst, all suffer from this misguided attempt at accommodating a popular American worship of some truly twisted misconception that "free speech" excuses social anarchy. (These loud adherents really need to read the US Constitution; its only four pages for chrisake!)
The solution would be signing on to the user agreement which says in part, "Off topic? Take it somewhere else."
Attempts to accommodate politics and puppies on a hobby forum are unnecessary and ludicrous. They just drive people away in the divisiveness and viciousness.
If I was to find myself owning MTJ, the first thing that would happen would be an explanation that I own it therefore it is private property. Behave here as you would behave in my house because it is my house. The Bill of Rights defines your relationship to your government, not to me in my house.
Then, I'd excise Club Car in its entirety and free up that space on the servers for photo posting.
