...to keep things going or get them restarted as the case might be.
1) I've been recovering from a bit of carving at the hands of the quacks. Monday will hopefully see my 18 odd stitches gone, which is a good thing because they'll be in a week longer than they should be (unless that wisdom has changed since I threw stitches in the Army). They itch and are in places I can't reach or I'd have lifted them myself. Still have my tools for the purpose and it won't be the first time I've taken my own stitches.
2) Old age is catching Poppet up, I fear. She is at the very least 17, and looking pretty dreadful. God bless her, she has given us a great life.
3) The Domed Sandbox actually passed a bill to cover the US debt limit. Amazed at how some on far left and far right voted against it, willing to sell their constituents down the river over some sort of political point or another when the alternative to this thing was financial disaster worldwide.
Especially inscrutable are the prog-left idiots, "I can't vote for taking this or that social programme from the poor in our country" so they instead vote against the bill which, had it failed, would have crushed what little that very group they are banging on about might have to hand. Just astounding.
I can understand why the nazis on the far right did it; anything to piss on the parade for political gain is to be expected from those blinded by hate and anger (or who take pleasure in it because they think its hilarious; the fun of being outrageous for personal aggrandisement), but the far-left idiots thinking they would be somehow helping the poor by crashing the world's economy?
4) Building models to pass the time whilst recovering from surgery. Here are but a few:
