I will put to you that mine wasn't an attempt at belittlement or contempt, but perhaps I was unsuccessful in raising the discussion from a viewpoint of observation rather than judgement. If there is indeed a perceived judgement on my part, it would be the observation that we are struggling as a society to cope not only with this fundamental societal shift but with the reason you cite for that shift, the end of the Machine Age and the onset of the Information Age. Indeed, it is the speed of change inherent in the new age that perhaps we all, generations immaterial, cannot cope with at the moment.
On another but associated note, another Stuff & Nonsense muse will be the introduction of the thesis that Boomers and GenZeds do not mutual dislike each other so intensely because we are so different, but because we are so very much alike. Perhaps tomorrow on that one.
