You might remember I thought because he never tried a restart, no attempt at a forced landing, no mayday call, the aircraft was festooned with cameras, he was wearing a parachute (who does that in a private?), and the side door was already unlatched, that it was a stunt for "views" and a dam dangerous one.
You'll also remember the FAA thought likewise, notified him they were investigating and it was his responsibility to preserve the wreckage, whereupon he told them he didn't know where it came down, then got a friend and a helicopter, recovered the wreckage, chopped it up, and distributed the bits in several skips.
My biggest bitch was he destroyed a vintage aircraft, a 1940 Taylorcraft, a very pretty little thing with some historical interest and significance and, by so doing, I personally wished him prison time for the affair.
Today, I read where he was just convicted of a felony or two and jugged for six months.
