Truer words was never spoken but if you don't have both son and daughter you won't know what it's like.
I loved all my children as infants but Heather (aka Pink) as a baby was just amazing and we both got on like a house on fire to such an extent that Daniel (my late son) tried to murder her!
So it seemed, though as they were both tots I dont really believe that but it was quite funny to catch him trying to launch her through the living room window by pressing her spring steel framed canvas deck chair back and then releasing it suddenly! Good thing she was seat belted in...
They fought like cats and dogs but were both loyal to each other and Heather has missed him more than I despite the long years of them kicking each others ass!
So Heather has been taking care of the details for me/us since I can remember, making sure the house taxes were paid and the phone bill too. Daniel set up the Verizon landline and modem service but then sort of forgot about the monthly bill and Heather paid it for years and never asked for me to pay her back.
Both of them were always over achievers and competitive about showing Dad who was the best in school. Daniel was the brightest but Heather is a sticker who will persist until she wins through despite any barriers whereas Daniel, like me, is more liable to say "bugger this for a lark" and go off in search of another challenge whereas Heather WILL win despite the odds.
Music lessons (piano), soccer, cheer
leading you name it and she'd give it her best shot - heres a good example, I love this story
She saw an ad in the local rag looking for people to clean ducks. So on her own initiative using her own money she bought a bucket, scrubbing brush, sponges and various detergents hoping to make a good impression at the interview.
I don't imagine I have to explain to you what 'cleaning' ducks really means!
