Digression on the port bow captain!
Drugs are such fun, Lewis Carroll had that right. My low dose slow release morphine doesnt give me a buzz (can't have patience enjoying himself now can we?) but it does cause very strange time dilation and extremely weird dreams! Anyway thats a moot point.
"Don't point that moot at me, Moriarty!"
Travel down to Aldeburgh, Suffolk and if it hasn't been washed away take a look at the old Moot Hall and that phrase will make sense. Its an early form of Parliament building in which certain matters were contentious, urgent or important enough to deserve the Moot's attention - the Moot being a sort of council or committee.

Those of you who actually read my stuff will have realised that its a pastiche of all that I consider to be the best bits of Great Britain taken from many past eras. I use word play either to lightly disguise actual place names (Old Town=Aldeburgh) or to derive interesting details from their forgotten provenance.
Try as I may, the story has to be told the way I do because I just don't know how to incorporate all the changes of time and place whilst maintaining an unbroken story line. So this announcement is to the effect that I've finally admitted its shortcomings and will continue higgledy piggledy or not at all!
