I'm not sure about the whisky thing Sarge to be honest. Whilst the medical mob will say no drinkies for Freddie from a general health prospective, I have always though that the higher the gravity of the hooch the less sugar it contains.

Beer being relatively weak, high in sugar whereas whisky, vodka etc high in alcohol thus low in sugar.

At this moment in time I'm on the side of cowardice and giving hooch a wide berth until told differently! (Laughs weakly.)
