It is quite pleasurable to see them grow then go on their way in the world.
Something similar happened to us some years ago at the cottage we stopped at in Wells.
As it was a nice day we thought we'd step into the tiny garden there and have a spot of lunch.
We noticed on the garden table was perched mother bird and child, going through the same rigmarole as Grover and family.
We saw them fly away (or so we thought) so we settled down to enjoy a happy hour or so.
Mother bird then flies back onto the table proceeded to give us a beak full of invective before calling junior back to continue his/her flying lessons.
I managed to capture some shots of this, mother on the guttering barking out orders and the little one mainly hiding in bushes with the odd timid venture into the garden.
I say little one as it was almost bigger than mother and as to species I couldn't say but we decided to leave them to it and took a stroll to the nearby cafe.
I do find it quite enjoyable observing things such as this and it also reminds me that we are not the only buggers on the planet with problems as Mrs bird was at pains to point out! (laughs.)
