That's not an uncommon line in the sand with cats, to be uncomfortable with surrendering "control". She actually is very social, indeed demanding of attention at times, well-adjusted albeit a bit mad; I've described her before as the younger aunt who is divorced, throws pottery, is head of the local arts council, smokes a little weed, drives an old brush-painted Citroen "Duck", and doesn't really care that everyone at any family gathering is waiting for her to say something inappropriate.
