It seems the commercialisation of search engines, such as Google taking pay for prioritising product even though not an advert, has destroyed the ability to search.

You can put keywords in quotes, key-phrases in quotes, hyphen out words, doesn't matter. If there is even tangentially a product or three, that's all you get no matter how you try to steer the search.

Like so many things requiring you to use info-tech, an app, a phone-tree, a kiosk, it just isn't worth the half hour trying (and so often failing) to get the same result you used to achieve in five minutes. Just a huge huge time waster and for what?

Are we so allergic to five sentences of human interaction or too lazy to crack a book for two minutes we regard a half-hour of if-then-else preferable?

I love the tech that improves my life, but this shit just isn't at all worthwhile.
