No apology necessary. Comedy is like art; it is art. Tastes must vary or it just is a repetition of mainstream opinion.

That last is my "off-button" point. Too many use the form as social commentary, something I'm more often trying to ignore when I seek a bit of comedy. Unless they are unusually deft at it, I feel I'm being lectured by someone who hasn't done a dam thing for society, like so many other celebrities (American actors come to mind) who think its their place to tell me what to think.

Same problem I have with some little Gen-zed college girl who grew up in a McMansion, never worked or wanted a day in her life, telling an old infantryman I need to acknowledge my privilege.
