I've been living vicariously as a bedbound invalid lusting over motorcycles old and new and particularly enjoying mechanical strip downs and analysis of stricken machinery. So much so that I frequently talk aloud to the computer as if the man could hear me.

"No,no, its the coil and condenser causing that problem"

"Look for clutch slip as your problem, the loss of power on hills and the slow pickup from a stop sounds like oil on the clutch which is a bugger to trace as its often not obvious. Try adjusting the lever for minimum release and if that doesnt help you might also consider knackered clutch springs as they do tire out over time"

That link that I put up for Fred led me to the Panther Owners Club videos that are especially erudite and very interesting.

Originally in my bed bound dreams I promised myself a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 but perhaps a Classic 350 would be a more sensible choice for its lighter weight though in my condition both would need a sidecar.

However lately I'm favouring the new BSA Gold Star.
