These two are rebuilds of models originally built in the 1970s or 1980s. They had seen a long life and bore the scars; fixed and freshened up for another long life:










One of the things you have to do in this scale is take commercial offerings intended for the hirail/coarse-scale marketplace and consider the basic form a starting point for models built to finescale standard. These automobile parts cars were built from Lionel offerings recently imported from China.

Often, you have to cast a critical eye over the coarse-scale offerings for raw material; occasionally you'll see something that has promise.
