Well, the orthopaedic surgeon's banning me from the workshop and getting in and out of the cars due to last fall's spinal fusion is over.
What a pleasant last couple days as we woke each of the little beggars in turn. The prep back six months ago was worth it; no stuck rings, clogged up carbs, &c. The Midget merely had the battery re-attached, check the oil, catch up the tyre pressures, and lit off like I had driven it last week.
The B lit off likewise, but the electric gages (and a few other things like the heater blower motor) were reluctant. This morning I cleaned all the connections at the fuse block for the "green circuit" and they came back to life. While it looked to be the result of sitting, that fuse block (the original to the car) really needs redone.
The Spit was a bit more stubborn. Everything was free to move, turn the key a notch and the fuel-pump happily started clattering away (the sound of confidence, that) but the second notch and everything killed. Starter needed a good whack and clean, then all was right in its world.
So, it looks like we went through our six-month hibernation better than could realistically be expected. Everything is running nicely at the moment so any "adventures" from this day forward will be new ones. Credit a little bit of prep before putting them up and a nice environment (the workshop has heat and air) for them to wait it out.
It ain't a fully flexible spine and never will be, but the cars are much easier to get in and out of. I'll take it for as long as it lasts!
