My usual airbrushes for railway models are the single-action external-mix Binks. I'm very comfortable with them as I use them at the very least on a weekly basis.
These T&C ones are a very different kettle of fish. Far more complex to use properly, but bring with them a far finer control and pattern you can only achieve with a brush of this configuration. I've not used them in so many years, it really is a re-learn. One tends to think this is like riding a bicycle but, at their level, it isn't.
The emphasis on WWII German subjects has nothing to do with the subject itself, but with the complexities of the paint schemes. They get no more complex, detailed, and fiddly than this, so the perfect subjects with which to get back my skills that have been long neglected.
I like a good challenge, and these things have been great fun.
