I cannot take credit for its appearance other than having woken the car from it's slumber and maintained it from then on as a working machine.
It is a survivor, still as it was assembled in Abingdon. Not a restoration, but kept in good nick over its long life with several owners, me just being the latest in the string. I've owned it ten years now.
I very much enjoy waking up, driving, and maintaining survivor cars; cars that have been driven since purchase off the lot and wearing the little warts of time with dignity. A resto really has had its history erased and an original (that being one of those that was bought and immediately stored away as an investment) never had a chance.
The B is my wife's favourite, a comfy "gentleman's roadster" in pretty much stock form, her idea of what a nice ride on a summer's eve should be. I keep it in this form for her; makes her a co-conspirator rather than just a tolerant spouse.
There are two others, a Spit and a Midget. They are also survivor cars, but they are a very different matter from the B. The Midget has a track suspension and half-again the horsepower from stock, and the Spit has a rallying pedigree though it came to me having been detuned back to something near normal. Most of that de-tuning has been reversed at my hand; it and the Midget are my practice cars to keep my skills up and my stress levels down. GRIN!
