This brought forward from "More Stuff and Nonsense":
And the decals and paint-diagram for the Betty showed today. These represent several individual aircraft that flew out of Rabaul in 1942.
Decal'd and finish coated the basic model after the final green blends; neurosis rears its head with five different greens blended in with that artist's airbrush to replicate the fading. An experiment and more technique practice more than anything else.
Paul will be disappointed as most of the aircraft illustrated apparently didn't have those yellow leading edge panels, so there's that.
After the Dakota is done I might take a break to think a little simply because I'm getting too neurotic with these; they are supposed to be more nostalgia and I'm treating them like modern kits worthy of being researched and done to the highest standard. Sure, they are supposed to be well-executed but I'm questioning my "balance", truth be told.
Still, the learning curve is a fun ride... Final assembly this morning; that's done!
The kit is an old Lindberg kit from the mid-60s, and the subject is not a very pretty aircraft.
