Oh, I got the reference and have to say it was your best piece of parody in a long time. The best part was that it was parody of your creating rather than a repost of some cackhanded or cringeworthy nonsense from the internet whose only possible redemption is the choice of target.

I very much fear our little corner of civility turning into another unenjoyable dung-pit in the manner of MTJ (as an example). That site was at one point a rollicking good time until politics became the dominant theme followed by the all-too-easy descent into nothing but bile. The fatal flaw of the social-media is the freedom to say whatever one wants with no risk of a good pop in the mouth; abuse then becomes fun and there is nothing uplifting one walks away with after visiting.

At the same time, intelligent reasoned commentary is something I personally enjoy and find valuable. Clever humour likewise, and clever vicious humour can be the best. A stiletto slipped between the ribs is as effective as an axe and far more satisfying. A steady diet of it (let alone of nothing but blind hatred of an individual and all his sycophants couched as politics) is just depressing and there are plenty of places to go for that. Truth be told, it becomes obsession.

A breadth of ideas balanced as to subject, yes and able to include the delicate ones with respect to the news of the day, is a wonderful thing and an increasingly rare thing to be nurtured and cherished.

It's not "inflammatory" to discuss the events that unfold resulting from the actions of this or the last US administrations, nor even the thesis that the man-toddler's grasp of reality is as loose as his hinges, whilst the previous administration was but an old man's temper tantrum.

Intelligent discourse and discussion is mentally stimulating, but a steady diet of political bitching is mind-numbing and I for one fear it.
