You might remember a little while back how I showed you Hobbes exhibiting the instinctive behaviour of cats (large and small) whilst sleeping in trees.

It may have sounded a bit fanciful, how they loop their tails underneath towards the centre of mass, creating a pendulum that will wake them up should they relax to the point of rolling off the branch and falling.
