It seems the postal service in the US is now using AI to vet customs forms used in sending packets internationally.

I sent one to a friend of mine yesterday, on the form identified as "railway model". The "system" would not accept it, calling it, "Prohibited Item: Helium-filled Balloons".

I have no idea why it wandered off into a ditch with that one, but I had to renamed the contents to something else.

This whole AI thing is just so magical. Wrong so much of the time, non-functional technology that does not improve anyone's quality of life by its existence, just a technological masturbation of the most useless sort. What fun!
